A visit by the delegation from The Korean Society of Agricultural Machinery (KSAM) to the MSAE and the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department was received in order to sign the equality understanding memorandum. The delegation consisted of Prof. Dongil Chang (Advisor to KSAM and also a Professor from the Chungnam National University, Daejeon, Korea ) and Mrs. Moohan Chang (his wife), Prof. Seung-Je Park (President of KSAM) and Prof. Dae-Cheol Kim from Chonbuk National University, who is also the Director of KSAM.
The visit was carried out from 31st August (Saturday) to 2nd September 2013 (Monday). The members were given a simple briefing on the background of KSAM and the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department committee also gave an explanation on the research and competency center available in the department. KSAM explained that the fund was obtained from the respective industries as well as from the publishing of the a Journal of Biosystems Engineeringa. The KSAM Committee had also presented 2 published journals for the year 2013 to MSAE. Apart from the visit to the department, the delegation was also brought to the Agricultural Mechanization and Automation Center, MARDI Serdang and to MPOB by Prof. Madya Ir Dr Azmi and Encik Ezrin. The EXCO members and the delegation were later brought to dinner in Bangi.
A visit to Empowered Agriculture to Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, and the Institute of Agriculture Bogor, Bogor Indonesia was conducted by Malaysia Society of Agricultural Engineers (MSAE). The goal of this visit is to establish a regional network between MSAE and Indonesian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE). MSAE had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) jointly with ISAE, led by Prof. Lilik Soetiarso, the President of ISAE, on October 12th 2014. The MSAE delegation was comprised of the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosnah Shamsudin (President of MSAE), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azmi Bin Dato Yahya (Vice President (Technical)), Dr. Muhammad Razif Bin Mahadi (Vice President (Administration)), Prof. Madya Dr. Hasfalina Binti Che Man (Executive Secretary), Dr. Muhamad Saufi Bin Mohd Kassim (Executive Treasurer), Dr. Norhashila Binti Hashim (MSAE Exco) and En. Ezrin Bin Husin (MSAE Exco).
The visits to Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta and Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Bogor Indonesia were carried out from October, 11th 2014 to October, 16th 2014. From the discussion, ISAE had agreed to participate as co-organiser in activities, such as International Workshops, Seminars and Conferences. IPB also agreed to participate in the MSAE upcoming program. Therefore, the visit of MSAE delegation to Indonesia has provided positive results in establishing regional cooperation.
